EnoFile Home Winemaking Now Optimized for Tablets
Created by Brew Ventures Incorporated, the EnoFile Home Winemaking app automates tracking and wine making calculations for wine hobbyists. “We built EnoFile to support our own winemaking hobby. We needed an app to capture all our notes, photos and readings as well as automate the complicated wine making calculations we had in spreadsheets. EnoFile now does that all in one app,” says CEO Susan Campbell-Weir.

Available on both IOS and Android devices, the app helps wine making amateurs make better wine by automatically calculating and easily tracking winemaking steps. No more worries about calculating Alcohol by volume (%ABV) and cost per bottle because EnoFile does it for you. If juice needs adjusting for either increased or decreased sugar, the app will provide recommendations based on users’ targets. The app also suggests protective additions to prevent microbacterial growth and oxidation.
Photos captured at each winemaking stage provide a social aspect to the app. The tasting sheet generated for each batch is shareable via print or email.
Finally, EnoFile helps winemakers advance their wine tasting skills. The app prompts tasters to select from a dimension of aromas and tastes then creates tasting notes. “The more a winemaker thinks about what’s in their own wine aromas, the more skilled they become at detection,” added Campbell-Weir.

New with the latest release, the EnoFile Home Winemaking app is optimized for tablets. “Before now, some people have been using EnoFile on their tablets, but to do so they would have to search apps for phones only,” says Campbell-Weir. With the new release, users see more of the screen and may be better able to review their information. The app will also rotate so can be used with a user’s preferred tablet stand. The app user base has grown 200% since first launching in early 2017. “This is a small release for EnoFile, but it extends the core benefits of the app into a new territory of users who consider tablets their home computers,” said Campbell-Weir.
